Gertie started making these santas when she was helping her sister decorate for christmas in a cowboy theme. When they were finished she said, "Now all you need is a cowboy santa." "Why don't you make me one," her sister said. Since then, Gertie has made # santas and has sold #.

Gertie's always had a love of art: she loves to paint and to do floral arranging. She started these santas in 1999 and hasnt stopped. Every year at christmas her house is decorated with at least 4 of her beautiful handsculpted santas. She's entered her santa's in several fairs and has won awards at the Pleasant Grove, UT Harvest Fair:

• 2000 1st place in sculpting category at the Harvest Fair in Pleasant Grove, UT for "Father Christmas."
• 2002 People's Choice Award and 1st place in Sculpting Category at the Harvest Fair in Pleasant Grove, UT for "Harvest Santa."
