Quality of Service
The Humanities Publications Center (HPC) is a student lab and exists to support the curriculum needs of the English Department and the College of Humanities. Unpaid student interns and paid student editorial assistants will work on your project, but they will be supervised by the faculty associated with the Center, who will also work on your project and ensure that you receive professional publication service of the highest quality. We will work until you are satisfied.
At all stages of the project, we will make the best suggestions we can, but we will never forget that this is your project and that you must make final decisions on all editorial matters. We will keep you informed of everything we do; if any of our projections change, we will inform you how and why as soon as possible. Please let us know how we can serve you better.

Pricing Information
Because of support from the College of Humanities, the HPC does not need to recover all of the costs associated with the publishing services it provides. Thus we charge only for the expense of paying a few student editorial assistants and for major supplies. Furthermore, since the College of Humanities subsidizes the operations of the HPC as a student lab, faculty members and departments in the College receive a significant discount from these already low charges.
Freelance publishing professionals in this region (editors, designers, and proofreaders) typically charge $15–$60 per hour, depending on the task, the nature of the project, and the skill and experience of the professional. Our charges, which likewise vary based on the same factors, range between only $10 and $15 per hour, before any discounts. Yet the faculty at the HPC ensure that you receive professional service for these low fees.
